1965 The Avengers Clapperboard “Two’s a Crowd” Episode
A rare and authentic piece of British television history, this original 1965 clapperboard was used in the production of The Avengers episode “Two’s a Crowd”.
This vintage clapperboard captures the golden age of The Avengers, a groundbreaking spy-fi series celebrated for its witty dialogue, stylish action, and charismatic leads. Featuring Patrick Macnee as John Steed and Diana Rigg as Emma Peel, the show became an iconic part of 1960s pop culture.
Authentic Production Details • Date: 24th May 1965 • Director: Roy Baker (Quatermass and the Pit, Scars of Dracula) • Cinematographer: Alan Hume (Return of the Jedi, For Your Eyes Only) • Scene Notes: Marked as Take 2 for an Interior Day shot • Material: Traditional wooden clapperboard with original hand-painted lettering
This clapperboard hails from Season 4, one of the most pivotal in The Avengers’ evolution. This was the first season to be shot entirely on film and featured some of the most visually striking black-and-white cinematography of the era.
Perfect for film memorabilia collectors, vintage TV enthusiasts, or lovers of mid-century British culture. Whether displayed in a home, gallery, or private collection, this piece is a striking reminder of the craftsmanship behind one of Britain’s most beloved television series.
