"I have grown up in Bordeaux surrounded by the magnificent big trees of Magnolia Grandiflora, with their perennial leaves, dark green and varnished on top, and velvety brown underneath. Though native of the Southern states of the US, it has happily established itself in the South West of France in the last centuries. The large flowers, with floppy, pure white, waxy petals are short lived but have a heavy, intoxicating perfume, absolutely unforgettable. It signifies summer for me". - Anne Curry
