Penny Chivers-Stanley
This piece is one of a series of 4 entitled ‘Listening Again’. Layers of paint and pastel are built over time in response to memories of landscapes; both physical places and landscapes of the mind. Small text included is from journaled pages, small marks are made in response to bird sound - in this case a crow’s croak - representing the experience of hearing the crow rather than seeing it. These pieces invite the viewer to pause and lean into their own internal thoughts.
