David Hockney
Framed H. 81.5 cm x W. 56 cm x D. 1.5 cm
This is a rare poster for Tate's 1980 exhibition of Hockney's drawings and prints made between 1961-1979, which Hockney designed. The figure at the centre is designer Celia Birtwell, Hockney’s muse between 1972 and 1973 who appears in many drawings of the time. He admired Birtwell for her 'beautiful face, a very rare face with lots of things in it which appeal to me.’
