Jenny Pickford b. 1969
Jenny Pickford is a contemporary artist blacksmith designing and making unique sculptures, water features and architectural ironwork from her forge in rural Herefordshire. Her fusion of traditional crafts with newer technologies has continually evolved since her fine art studies in Belfast.
A single blacksmithing workshop inspired her to undertake a further three years studying blacksmithing at Hereford College, graduating in 2002. Similarly, her passion for blown glass has evolved from a short course in Stourbridge, and this fusion of materials and techniques constantly inspires and challenges her, both artistically and technically.
Jenny's vision and energy is ceaseless. She applies her determination and strength to the materials she works with, giving it a feminine and sensual perspective inspired by the spirit of nature. Always creating and experimenting with ideas and materials, Jenny loves to work with clients, schools and community groups to develop designs that have a personal connection and meaning.
Jenny exhibits throughout the UK and Internationally and exports her work to clients across the Globe. She has exhibited at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show from 2005-2015, installed her ‘Agapanthus’ sculpture as show feature at the Chicago Flower Show in 2012, had solo shows in National Trust gardens in 2015 and 2017. You can view her public art commissions in China, Australia the USA and across Europe.
